Kevin + Lauren | Saline, Michigan Wedding
Kevin and Lauren graduated from Saline High School but only got to know each other on winter break of their freshmen year of college, back in Saline. They are a fun and light hearted couple. I met Lauren a few years later when I got an email from an eager photography student who was looking for a summer internship with me. We had a great summer, with Lauren learning about the photography business. It's the best photographing a wedding of people that I know!
Kevin + Lauren got married last August on a perfect summer day. Blue skies and warm sun, it was lovely! I hope you enjoy their wedding, it was a beautiful one!
Lauren says, "Something that made the day special for us was the fact that our whole wedding party was such good friends. 12 of the 15 of us graduated from Saline High School and 9 of us went to Michigan State together. We're spread all over the country now (Los Angeles, New York City, Atlanta, Knoxville, Indianapolis, Nashville, Grand Rapids, Waco Texas, Greenville South Carolina, and Ann Arbor), but when we're together it seems like we see each other all the time!"
I'm including the Proposal Story because it's so cute: "On November 21st, 2012, Kevin and I drove from Atlanta to Saline to be with our families for Thanksgiving. At the end of this 11 hour drive, Kevin asked me if it would be alright to stop by his sister's condo before he dropped me off at my parents house. Apparently, his mom had asked him to grab a spice for a pie she was making and his sister's condo is not very far from my house. About a minute after he went in, I received a call from Kevin asking me to help him find the right spice. As soon as I stepped inside, I knew something was up. There was a sign taped to the wall that said, "Lauren, follow the red ribbon. Do not stray from its path". I did as the sign said and followed the ribbon up the stairs and around the condo. Strung along the ribbon were pictures from throughout our relationship and reasons why he loved me. At this point, I began to cry and was so excited that I had a hard time reading these reasons! The ribbon eventually led me to a closed door. I opened it to find Kevin holding a tiny box. It was then that he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I, of course, said YES!"
