A Scarab Club Wedding | Detroit Wedding Photographer

Two beautiful creatives met and fell in love and planned an exquisite wedding, nestled in The Scarab Club downtown Detroit with close friends and family and it was an affair to remember. Tim and Elaine were thrilled to have their ceremony and reception take place at the Scarab Club, in Detroit MI.  It's an historical non-profit organization, founded in 1927, aimed to support the arts.  It meant a lot to Tim and Elaine to have their special day be apart of such a sacred place, all while helping to sustain the arts in the city that first inspired Elaine.  Throughout its history, the club has attracted many major artists of the twentieth century, including Diego Rivera, who signed a beam on the second floor lounge while working on his Detroit Industry murals in 1932 at the neighboring Detroit Institute of Arts. Hundreds of other artists have enjoyed signing the second floor beams and contributed to murals.

I could go on and on about this wedding, but words would fail me. I LOVED this wedding. It was profoundly simple yet elegant, artistic and gorgeous in every sense of the word. The Scarab Club might be one of my favorite wedding venues of 2014. It holds such history and character and oozes with charm.

A shout out to other vendors on this wedding:

Florist: Blumz by JRDesigns  |  Dress: Lovely Bride, Tribeca NYC designed by Theia  |  Bridesmaid Dresses: JCrew  |  Groom's Suit: JCrew  |  Caterer: The Caucus Club  |  Band: Motor City Beat  |  Elaine made the invitations using a woodblock print

No more words are needed, take a peak and enjoy. Thinking warm and sunny thoughts on this wintery day,
Melanie
