You might find the bride and groom look familiar as I traveled last year to Chicago to capture their engagement photos. They are two Michigan transplants who found each other through mutual friends in Chicago. (you know how the conversation goes, "Oh I know this girl that is from Michigan too!") The two hit it off and well - as they say - the rest is History.

Traveling back to Michigan for their wedding they wanted an intimate Michigan affair. I loved the events they planned and how warm and intimate it ended up feeling. Friday night we had the honor of capturing some images at the rehearsal dinner at the Detroit Athletic Club (GORGEOUS sunset, wow!) I cannot say enough about how much photographing the rehearsal dinner helped everyone's ease and comfort level on the wedding day. It was awesome to walk into the wedding knowing the key family members, already having great family portraits from the night before, and with a general sense of familiarity to start capturing the wedding day. So helpful.

Zingerman's Cornman Farms offers just what I described. Family friendly. Intimate setting. Relaxing atmosphere (no transporting wedding party and guests from place to place). It really is one of my favorites and I'm honored to 1) live in the same town as such a fine venue and 2) get to work there often.

One more note before I show you some of my favorite wedding images of the year (I'm already calling it). The bride Alexa is such a talented soul and hand painted AMAZING details that were out of this world stunning: Table Name Cards, Place Name Cards, Invitation, Program, and Signage. So so pretty - a definite must see! Thanks to amazing vendors such as Red Poppy Floral (ceremony garland, bouquets, boutonnieres, and centerpieces) who are fabulous to work with and make things beautiful. Hair and Makeup were done by Bell Amore Salon - loved the bride's look! Her dress is an amazing two piece ensemble from Watters Too and looked amazing on Alexa.
