A White Oaks Farm Wedding

I’m pretty sure Talia and Patrick found my work because I've shot other events at White Oaks Farm in Dexter, Michigan. Whatever it was or whoever I have to thank, THANK YOU. Talia and Patrick are amazing genuine people. When you’re with them you feel lucky to be in that moment. They are aware and conscious of everyone around them. In a very deep way they get to know and are interested in how everyone around them is doing, feeling, and experiencing life. It’s truly a gift and it’s a gift they’ve obviously given to one another. They care for each other so so well.

The things I LOVE about shooting a farm wedding is an *all in one place, *relaxed, and *all about the people. It’s just a really good time.

After getting ready at an AirBnB we started with photos of the family and bridal party around the farm. It was a gorgeous day and despite the rainy forecast was warm and sunny. If you’re into First Looks (when bride and groom see each other for the first time) you’ll love this one- I usually instruct brides to walk up to the (turned around) groom and tap him on the shoulder for him to turn and them to see each other. Talia was so excited she instinctively grabbed Patrick and hugged him from behind. So natural and beautiful.

Talia got her dress from The Brides Project - a bridal boutique - with a heart! The Brides Project sells wedding gowns and donates 100% of their proceeds to the Cancer Support Community of Ann Arbor. Truly a socially conscious choice (and she looked gorgeous in it!!).

The ceremony was held under a gorgeous tree where they combined traditions and said I DO with great support and words from special people in their lives. The party was one to remember with an amazing spread from Moveable Feast (seriously delicious and gorgeous food!!!), a great dance party, Whiskey Bar, bonfire, S’mores and so much joy.

Congratulations to you both. It was an honor to photograph your wedding. Your love for life and goodness is contagious and will stay with me for a very long time. Thank you.
