Erik & Mary : Novi, Michigan Wedding

I love how connected this big world has become. This is especially evident in the way that brides find me to capture their wedding day. This line of connection started with Emily, whose friends with Laura. I photographed Emily and Mark's wedding in Ann Arbor and Laura attended (and rocked her socks off on the dance floor with her fiance, Chris!). Laura started planning her wedding for June 2013 and we met up with her Mom over coffee. As we were wrapping up (and booking Laura'a wedding!) her  mother said, "Would you happen to be free for a September 2012 wedding for my other engaged daughter?!" I'm so excited to work with the same family twice in one year for their daughter's weddings! And that is how I came to meet Mary. Erik & Mary met in a German Class in college at University of Michigan - Dearborn. Mary, a marketing expert and Erik a car engineer (fanatic) may not know much German, but they have that class to thank for their beginning.

They had a simply elegant wedding this fall.  The wedding ceremony was held in the bride's home parish of St James Catholic Church in Novi, Michigan. After the ceremony the bridal party headed to Apple Orchard where we captured some fun wedding party photographs. The reception was held at "It's a Matter of Taste" in Commerce Township. This was my first time photographing at this Gorgeous spot. Right on the lake with great ambience it is an ideal spot for any wedding reception. It turned out to be a gorgeous day and the back patio was well used and appreciated!
